Our journey with distribution began in 2017 - quite unknowingly - with a strong desire to find meaningful audiences for our films. At first, it was thrilling to be selected by festivals, travel internationally, receive recognition, and gather awards. But what stayed with us most was the impact of real conversations with viewers and the resonance our films found in unexpected places.
Over time, we also came face to face with a hard truth: making and exhibiting independently produced documentary films is rarely financially sustainable. And yet, our love for the medium wouldn’t let us stop - so we had to find another way.
After years of learning and experimenting with distribution of our own films, we’ve gained valuable insights into this vital part of a film’s journey. We’re now excited to extend our learnings and offer professional distribution services to fellow South Asian filmmakers - with care, transparency, and intention.
Our larger vision is to support South Asian documentary filmmakers in becoming truly independent - and to empower them to tell the stories that matter most, in their own unique voice.
